2009-2010 Royals Code of Conduct Form

Royals Code of Conduct

2009-2010

In addition to USA Hockey’s Code of Conduct, the Richmond Royals have a Code of Conduct.  All players, parents, family members, coaches and other spectators are required to act accordingly or will be subject to action from the Royals Disciplinary Committee.

The Richmond Royals have “Zero Tolerance” for the following:

·        Swearing, disrespectful, disruptive or abusive language will not be tolerated – in the locker room, on the ice, on the bench, in the stands, in the rink.   Violations will result in the player being suspended up to and including the remainder of that game and the next game.  Parents will be asked to leave the rink.

·        I will treat my teammates, coaches, officials, and all adults and parents, no matter the team or organization, with respect at all times.

·        No lashing out or use of abusive language towards the officials.  If you have a concern, discuss it with your coach.  The coaching staff will handle all matters pertaining to the officiating.   Violations will result in immediate removal from the game & suspension from the next game.  Parents will be asked to leave the rink.

·        Anyone who receives a penalty will skate directly to the penalty box without any disruptive behavior or language while on the ice, in the penalty box or when off the ice.

·        Fighting will not be tolerated.  Fighting will result in an appearance before the Disciplinary Committee.

·        Bullying – of team mates or players from other teams – will not be tolerated in the locker room, on the ice, on the bench, at the rink or at any other team function.  Bullying will result in an appearance before the Disciplinary Committee.

·        The Richmond Royals will not tolerate the possession or drinking of alcohol or the possession or use of any illegal substances or items at any time by any player within the Richmond Royals organization.  I understand that any documented incident (e.g. official record) involving the possession or use of alcohol or any illegal substances or items regardless of location of the incident, at any time will be grounds for immediate suspension and for any other suspension or discipline in the disgresion of the Disciplinary Committee, which may include up to a lifetime ban from the Richmond Royals.  If an incident occurs between hockey seasons and the Royals Board is informed of the incident, then the player along with the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) will need to appear before the Disciplinary Committee prior to tryouts for a ruling regarding the player’s eligibility.  If the incident is discovered after tryouts and the player subsequently makes a team then an appearance before the Disciplinary Committee will be required for a ruling on the player’s eligibility.

·        Both players and parents agree to conduct themselves in a befitting manner at all facilities (ice rink, hotel, restaurant, etc.) and during all team functions.    You represent the Richmond Royals organization as a whole and need to act accordingly.

·        Any player, parent or team official who fails to abide by these policies will be subject to action by the Disciplinary Committee – immediate removal from the ice, suspension from the next game (league or non-league), or suspension from a series of games, suspension from practice, suspension for the remainder of the season, or any other appropriate disciplinary action administered by the Disciplinary Committee.

·        I will strictly abide by any dress code set forth by the coach or the Royals organization, including no wearing of headgear of any kind, except those approved by and endorsed by the Royals.

·        In the case of any suspension, all monies paid to the Royals for the season involved will be nonrefundable.  Further, should a player be receiving financial assistance from the Richmond Royals, all monies contributed by the Royals to that player may be subject to repayment to the organization.

When you are wearing a Royals jersey or attending a Royals game as a parent or spectator, you represent the entire Richmond Royals organization.   Please show respect for the sport and for the Richmond Royals organization – on and off the ice.
